Flowers even though have a short life span they can do many things which others can’t do that is make us happy ,bring a smile to a sad face. It is neither the expense nor its rarity that accounts for the happiness but its freshness and beauty. So it is important to care the flowers to retain its freshness and beauty.
A blooming flower can make us happy while a dull flower can put down your mood. With proper care and maintenance you can get flowers to stay alive for quite long time in a vase as well as in the garden .The best time advised to cut flowers is during the daybreak .Cut the stem of the flower using a knife or a scissors, scissors are advisable .The stem should cut at an angle in order to ensure maximum water absorption when they are exposed to most suitable warm water. It is good to cut the stems to avoid air bubble under running water. Trimming the stems and changing the water everyday adds extra life to the flower. Changing the water without disturbing the flower arrangement is wise. A turkey can be used to remove water from the vase. Tightly packed flowers tend to dry up faster than loosely held ones in the vase.
Ensure that all the leaves in the stem that are under water are removed. Prolonged exposure to sunlight should be avoided. Place them in a cool place especially during night storing them in a fridge if possible is good. Adding sugar to the water lengthens the life of the flowers. The flower vase can be made more attractive by adding a few drops of food color to the water. Flowers like roses die out faster than others like mums. Replace the dead flowers by new ones. These are a few important tips to keep your vase fresh and beautiful.
